I believe that everyone has the desire and ability to heal and thrive as they face life's inevitable challenges.
Health psychology, and my work providing therapy to individual and couples in medical clinics and systems, taught me the important connections between our physical, social, and emotional health.
Therapy can be a powerful introduction to the value of the Mind-Body Connection (in technical terms: the Biopsychosocial Model). Research has shown that a Mindfulness Practice can quiet the body and relieve stress and anxiety in the short-term and provide long-term benefits such as improvements in learning, memory and emotion regulation. Teaching these skills is an integral part of my practice.
